Dan Rattomatic reps Nottingham, UK hard! And has done since his early days with the World Famous Beatamax Crew. Stepping to the turntables at the early age of 16 Dan Rattomatic learnt the art of scratching and mixing Hip Hop the traditional way, taking notes from the pioneers of scratch DJing he grew up watching and listening to the likes of Q-bert, Mix Master Mike, DJ Eddie Def, DJ Quest, DJ Babu and many more. Armed with vinyl, a mixer and two turntables Dan Rattomatic was putting out mixtapes and mastering his craft playing breaks for the Notts 125 breaker's and maturing into the Hip Hop scratch DJ he is today. Through this hard work and determination Dan Rattomatic was apporached by legendary Notts pirate radio station Freeze FM and ended up dropping wax weekly on the 'World Famous Beatamax Show' with the other half of the World Famous Beatamax Crew, DJ Element. Together the two DJ's ran the sucessful long running 'HomoSapian Social Club' in Nottingham where the World Famous Beatamax Crew performed four deck 'battle' sets pushing their skills and knowledge of vinyl and music to the limit.
Around this time Dan Rattomatic hooked up with Pete 1st Blood through the mutual respect of each others musical release's. Both members attended and often played at the now defunkt one-two HQ at the closed down but not forgotten legendary Nottingham nightclub 'The Bomb'. Becoming close friends and working with the 1st Blood family Dan Rattomatic was a firm fixture in the 1st Blood Live performance scratching in the full band as well as dropping beats and cutting it up for the 4 piece outfit, Blood Cypher Ryme. In the studio Dan Rattomatic provided scratch work to the heavily due 1st Blood album 'The Blood Drop Agenda'. The album was recorded for Island Records Chris Blackwell and Massive Attacks Tricky and was due to be released on the now defunkt Brown Punk record label. During the recording of 'The Blood Drop Agenda' Dan Rattomatic also provided cuts on 1st Blood Records release 'Twisted Teachings' by Louis Cypher and 'Obselete Format' by Opticus Ryme, both albums being classic debuts. More recently Dan Rattomatic has been providing cuts on nearly every track on the upcoming album 'Eat Defeat' by Blood Leech which includes all original members of 1st Blood plus guest appearances from the legendary Notts MC's Cappo, Midnyte and many many MANY more.
Not being satisfied with just providing cuts for records Dan Rattomatic moved into production in 2008, thus the creation of his debut album 'Turbo Charged Cheese Dreams is heavily underway and should be due for release late 2010. 'Turbo Charged Cheese Dreams' guest apperances include Pete1st Blood, Liam Bailey, Louis Cypher, Opticus Ryme, Ro Jista, Benny Diction, Samwise and many more musicians, singers, producers and rappers.
Still not satisfied on working on all this music and somehow finding the time Dan hooked up with long time friend and Beatboxing production power house Foz and joined the newly formed Inkrument. The Inkrument is Foz on the beatbox and production, Samwise on the mic and Dan Rattomatic on the cuts. Dan Rattomatic laced the release of their limited album 'Inkrument and Friends' and the most recently the incredible mixtape 'Samwise Goes Pop' with his trademark tight imaginative cuts. The Inkrument will be releasing the 2nd (but 1st proper) long player 'RRRARE' through Dealmaker Records in the next month (or so, check the myspace).
As you have read Dan Rattomatic is always working on something whether it be a new beat, recording scratching for fellow artists or just juggling some of Dilla's Donuts on the one's and two's in the studio, Dan Rattomatic exists.
